100% Cotton Candy-Striped Bath Towels

Bath Towels small
Product: Hand-woven bath towels

Price: $30

Website: karaweaves.com

Unless you’ve traveled to India, these bath towels sold by Kara Weaves are probably unlike any you’ve used before. Woven from an ancient cotton fabric called thorthu, the towels are lightweight, highly absorbent and compact. Chitra Gopalakrishnan launched the business with her mother in order to promote the production of thorthu textiles in India, a traditional process that is slowly dying out. Local weavers hand-loom the towels and each purchase preserves their industry and artistic craft.

Editors’ Comment: The towels come in fun colors and don’t take up too much space. Easy to pack or store in a linen closet, it’s a nice gift option for large families.
