Boxai turns the notion of greeting cards inside out, literally. A twist on Matryoshka dolls, Boxai consist of a series of boxes nestled inside one another, with the message “Thanks for all you do to make life so sweet” in the smallest box. Mary Aspinwall, who co-created Boxai with her husband, Yanagi, chose to adorn these particular boxes with images of honey bees in order to raise awareness of the bee population’s rapid disappearance in the wild. The company is also a member of 1% For The Planet, a network of businesses that donate at least 1% of sales to nonprofit partners.
