Name: Joy Ekhator

Business: Lovinah Skincare

Location: Houston, Texas, U.S.

Industry: Consumer Goods

Reason for starting: l started Lovinah Skincare company to help my three children with their dry skin problem. After going to different doctors and using countless numbers of medicine on my children, the turning point was when my youngest son was prescribed steroids for his severe eczema skin problem and l realized l didn’t want my son on steroids , so l decided to research a natural, but effective way of treating this skin ailment. After much research, l found a solution that worked for my family and then decided to start a skin care company helping other parents and people with very dry skin problems.

How do you define success? Success to me is connecting with people from all over the world and spending the majority of my time focused on tasks that are fulfilling, brings me happiness, spending more time with my children and loved ones, maximizing my potential and empowering other people in a meaningful way.

Biggest success:
My biggest success to date is having the courage to leave a high paying job 6 months ago to focus on my business full-time. Life is too short to be unhappy. Go after whatever brings you happiness and just live. Success to me is not about making huge profits, but doing something that uplifts my body, mind and spirit.

Lovinah Skincare just started a “You Are Beautiful” campaign to help bring awareness to the dangers of skin bleaching around the world. My goal is to promote glowing skin from within hence the reason l just launched Joy Superfood Smoothie mixes to help promote healthy, radiant skin from the inside out. True beauty comes from within and my job is to educate more people to fall deeply in love with the skin they are in.

What is your top challenge and how you have addressed it? Finding reliable distributors has been a a big challenge. We are always looking for ways to get our products out there to our customer. lt’s a never ending process and l hope to find that perfect distributor someday.
