Name: Miyako Franklin

Business: Easy Job Apps LLC , an Arkansas-based employment agency

Industry: Coaching & Consulting

Location: Little Rock, Arkansas, U.S.

Reason for starting: The reason why I’m starting Easy Job Apps LLC is to make the job hiring process easier for applicants. Often, the hardest part of the process for applicants is just getting in the door. Many hiring managers report errors on job applications and resumes due to a lack of proofreading, proper punctuation or general incompleteness. The goal of Easy Jobs Apps is to help take away the stress of applying. We apply for the applicants and hunt for positions in their field. It’s an opportunity to gain access to potential jobs not publicly listed on job boards. Many companies don’t even use job boards. Easy Job Apps LLC wants the best for clients. We want to send them on their way receiving callbacks and scheduling interviews with future employers.

How do you define success? Success is defined as getting up and being able to make your own rules. It’s having independence while having your finances, career, and personal life flourish and be stable. Successful people are always searching for more opportunities and never satisfied with the status quo.

Biggest Success: I’m about to start my 4th year rotations at UAMS College of Pharmacy. It’s pretty exciting knowing that I’m so close to obtaining my Doctorate. Pharmacy is a challenging yet rewarding profession. I worked on my company website around my Doctorate program and working full-time hours as an intern at a Children’s Hospital. I think my ability to multitask is contributing to my success in certain areas.

What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it? As a student, financially it’s hard to start a business but I didn’t let that stop me. I decided to cut back on expenses as far as shopping, eating out daily, and creating new bills I knew were just wants over needs. The top challenge with starting a business, though, is building a presence. When you’re an entrepreneur, you are in essence a walking billboard. I use to be timid around certain crowds. I’ve learned the importance of being fearless. At some point in life, you have to step out of the bleachers in the crowd and take risks. Developing a successful business is a constant challenge but one that’s very much appreciated. Knowing you created something bigger than yourself and helping someone along the way is a pretty awesome feeling.

Who is your most important role model? When I think of a role model, my best friend Ileaa Swift comes to mind. She’s the owner of Swift Travel Deals LLC, a very popular travel agency that specializes in every type of travel you could imagine. She is also a public speaker. She’s releasing a jewelry line, doing press and writing books. She’s all about diversifying herself and creating a brand. I take notes from her. I feed off of her positive energy. A role model to me is someone that has their priorities in line but still knows how to have a social life and maintain consistency in all areas…personal, finances, work. She balances everything so well!
