Reason for starting
After having a gallery showing that sold out, I decided it might not be a bad idea to turn my hobby into a career. Incorporating helped with writing off the incurring business expenses and apprenticing at photography studio helped hone in the skills I have today.
Biggest Success
Having been published in numerous travel books, on the Oprah website and newsletter and on the cover of a national publication has been very rewarding. But my true success is having my clients tell me they loved their experience with me and love their photos!
What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it?
These days my biggest challenge is standing out from the crowd. Seems like with the dawn of the digital age everyone has become a photographer. There is a skill to photography and an ability to not only take great photos but to be able to relate to people and build a rapport. Our clients have a life long relationship with us, which we love.
Who is your most important role model?
My role model is my amazing husband. He is my anchor and helps me by assisting on photo shoots, taking video for our company, and being a sounding board whenever needed.
