Reason for starting
Unemployment. After several months of feeling sorry for myself, a light bulb turned on and I remembered who I was and what I was capable of. I realized that the same skills and talents I used to help grow the company I was laid off from, I could now use to help many others – under my own brand!
Biggest Success
Winning a small business competition after being in business for only a couple of months was exciting but when I was asked to come back and TEACH the program only one year later I was overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation.
What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it?
Fear of standing in my own brilliance. I’ve always been a quiet person – quick to promote others but slow to acknowledge my own greatness. I’ve learned to appreciate myself and that it is my duty to use the gifts and talents that God blessed me with to shine my light unto the world.
Who is your most important role model?
Myself, but not in an ego-centered way. It doesn’t matter how many achievements anyone else has if I don’t believe I am capable of accomplishing them myself. There are countless people I admire, too many to name, but it is important that I continue to remind myself that I am worthy because when fear and doubt creep in it’s up to me to motivate me.
