On the occasion of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Women Deliver, an organization that advocates for the safety and wellness of women throughout the world, is highlighting the important roles that girls and women play in the international community — and why we must all work to ensure their simultaneous elevation and protection.

“This year’s UNGA is especially relevant for us as 193 world leaders commit to the Sustainable Development Goals — 17 Global Goals that aim to accelerate progress and transform development policy, program, and financing through 2030,” our friends at Women Deliver say. “If the SDGs are going to truly transform our world, it is critical that the health, rights and well-being of girls and women are at the heart of implementation strategies.”

Indeed, the world’s women and girls are at the forefront of development, progress and change throughout the world.
