Business: Beach Glam, a maker of beachwear and accessories for women

Reason for starting: With a passion for the fashion industry, I went to NYU Stern to attain my MBA with a concentration in Luxury Marketing. I created Beach Glam based on my love for summer, going to the beach, traveling, and fashion. I wanted to create an innovative and more fun way to shop for beachwear online, hence I created the Beachwear Bundle concept. This allows women to buy beachwear outfits and mix and match items. A combination of efficiency and fun when shopping!

How do you define success? Success in my opinion is an equilibrium between emotional and financial stability.
Biggest Success: My biggest success was taking the plunge and deciding to start Beach Glam while in business school. We have come a long way since the initial business plan made in Summer 2012.
What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it? The top challenge with Beach Glam has been multi-tasking and being involved with all aspects of the business (design, merchandising, operations, marketing, digital marketing, PR, finance). I have never owned a business hence many aspects of it have been a learning curve. However, through reading many books, articles, webinars, advice from friends, and mentors– I have learnt a tremendous amount.

Who is your most important role model? My most important role model is my mother. She is the most hard-working woman I know who has sacrificed so much to give me the opportunities and drive that I have today. She also is a daily inspiration and serves as my sounding board.
