Name: Annette Williams

Business: Pretty & Plus Boutique, a provider of new and gently used plus sized clothing for women

Industry: Clothing & Accessories

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina, U.S.

Reason for starting: Pretty & Plus Boutique was developed from my desire to offer plus size women affordable, new and gently used, beautiful, stylish clothing. Nothing in our boutique is over $20 and we are able to dress a woman from head to toe for most occasions. When you look good, you feel good and we pride ourselves on being an entity that builds self esteem. Pretty & Plus Boutique doesn’t just sell trendy clothes and pretty, shiny accessories, we offer words of encouragement and treat all of our customers with the ultimate respect and appreciation.

How do you define success? We define our success by always striving to give five star, seamless customer service and by working with women in need from all walks of life via non-profit and community organizations. We treat each and every customer or client, with respect, dedication and genuine heart-felt care.

Biggest Success: I’d have to say that my biggest success thus far is having the courage and tenacity to leave the corporate workforce and a very successful career to launch Pretty & Plus Boutique.

What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it? Our top challenge this year was beginning the process of relocating to a larger space. The original space was just too small to properly display our wares and effectively serve our beloved customers and clients.

Who is your most important role model? My two most important role models are my amazing, loving and very supportive husband, Aaron Williams and my dynamic Senior Pastor, Robert L. Campbell (of the Castle Hayne, NC based New Beginning Christian Church). Both of these men have my back on all accounts at all times! They provide love, tough love, genuine encouragement and are key parts of builing my overall faith. Two of the best proverbial cheerleaders ever! My husband and Senior Pastor Campbell are trailblazers in their own right as well, so who better to provide the necessary base of support. I’m fortunate to have them both in my life and in the ongoing life of Pretty & Plus Boutique.
