The influence of Black women cannot be overstated.
In every sector, and on every tier of society, Black women have made impacts, and made history. Their brilliance and boldness has made our lives safer, healthier, richer, more musical – better. All of this, despite living in a world that makes it significantly harder for them to earn, achieve and live.
Of course, we’ve written about the big names: superstar performer Beyoncé, former Vice President Kamala Harris, former tennis pro Serena Williams and media mogul Oprah Winfrey, for example. We’ve compiled lists of Black women entrepreneurs, singers, actors, athletes, politicians and more. But we’ve also gone beyond the Black women you know best – revealing a rich and intricate tapestry of contributions, achievements and overall brilliance.
Below, we’ve rounded up just some of our coverage of this truly amazing, dynamic demographic group. Black women should be listened to, as the saying goes – but more than that, they should be celebrated, elevated and recognized for all that they have done and given.
