Reason for starting
We started Wilson Capital Management Inc., as a boutique consulting firm offering organizations assistance in managing change, strategy and human capital.

How do you define success?
Our success is defined by helping clients identify solutions to complex organizational matters. A constant measurement of our success is client satisfaction scores, repeat clients and referrals from existing clients. Our organization does very little marketing, yet has consistently reported growth year over year (increased profitability).

Biggest Success
In a economy that has been challenging we have been able to grow our business and expand in new markets. We have opened a new office in Alabama as of 2011 and have been able to secure new clients in Alabama, Georgia and Florida in the past year.

What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it?
Our top challenge has been to manage cost and continue to bring our clients exceptional service at a competitive rate. We have managed cost by working from our client sites when appropriate. Our clients have enjoyed the ability to utilize their consultants immediately and being able to bring consultants in right away when they face challenges. This collaboration and sharing of ideas has proved to be a beneficial partnership for our organization as well as our clients organizations.

Who is your most important role model?
I have two people that have been helpful to me as I continue to grow my business. Wanda Alexander and Janet Smith, both successful, women entrepreneurs. These ladies have shown me that being in business takes a certain level of grit, passion and persistence. In addition, it takes a great group of advisors who will tell you what you need to hear not necessarily what you want to hear. As a woman business owner, it is important to surround yourself with other women business owners.
