You simply can’t dull Cardi B’s shine — especially since she’s gone “diamond” once more.

The Bronx born-and-raised rapper’s 2018 tune “Girls Like You,” a collaboration performed with pop band Maroon 5, became diamond-certified this week. That means a given song has sold over 10 million units in the United States.

And when the song hit that milestone, Cardi B became the first woman rapper to ever achieve diamond status more than once. She’s also only the third woman performer to ever do so in documented history, alongside singers Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

Cardi B’s 2017 hit single “Bodak Yellow” — her breakout single — was the first song of hers to achieve this status.
In a celebratory tweet, the recording artist said that she was “forever grateful” for the distinction. She also shared congratulatory messages from her fans, reposting them along with messages of her own, such as “diamonds are a girl’s best friend.”
