Her Marketing Agency Helps Tech Companies Grow
Diana Akchurina’s Easy Communications marketing agency assists companies in the tech space with growing their visibility and expanding their target audiences.
Diana Akchurina started up her marketing agency, Easy Communications, in 2016, in a bid to achieve financial independence and assert more control over her future. Eight years later, Akchurina has relocated to Spain, had children, and been able to maintain a healthy work-life balance – all because she works for herself. While her agency helps companies in the tech space use organic marketing tools in cost-effective ways, she’s most proud of the fact that she has created the life she wants to live.
Here’s our lightly edited Q&A, from The Story Exchange 1,000+ Stories Project.
How is your business different from others in your industry?
Our specialized focus on the tech sector, combined with a strong emphasis on organic marketing tools. Unlike many agencies, we prioritize cost-effective solutions that are especially valuable during these times of financial optimization. We understand the unique challenges tech companies face and tailor communication strategies that not only boost visibility but also resonate deeply with target audiences.
Tell us about your biggest success so far.
Creating a lifestyle that allows me to earn money while raising my children and traveling as a digital nomad. I’ve built a business that provides me with the flexibility to work from anywhere, which has given me the freedom to balance my professional ambitions with family life. I’m able to be present for my children while still pursuing my passions for marketing and entrepreneurship.
What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it?
Managing personnel and overcoming impostor syndrome. As the business grew, I had to learn how to effectively lead a team and delegate tasks, which wasn’t easy at first. Especially because, there were moments when I doubted my abilities, or felt like I didn’t belong in the entrepreneurial world.
To address all of this, I focused on continuous learning, surrounded myself with a strong support network, and reminded myself of my accomplishments. Over time, these efforts helped me grow both as a leader and an entrepreneur.
Have you experienced any significant personal situations that have affected your business decisions?
The birth of my children, and my relocation to Spain.
Becoming a mother reshaped my priorities, motivating me to create a business model that offers flexibility. Moving to a new country, meanwhile, not only expanded my perspective, but also influenced how I approached business growth through the process of adapting to a new market and legal landscape.
What is your biggest tip for other startup entrepreneurs?
Embrace the power of adaptability, and do not be afraid of change. One thing I wish I had known earlier is that things rarely go exactly as planned, and being flexible is key to navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. Also, don’t let impostor syndrome hold you back — believe in your vision, and your ability to make it happen. Surround yourself with a strong support network, and remember that setbacks are just stepping stones to success.
How do you find inspiration on your darkest days?
By reconnecting with my “why.” Thinking about the life I’ve built for my children, and the flexibility I’ve created to be present for them, helps me push through tough times. I also remind myself of the progress I’ve made, no matter how small, and the challenges I’ve already overcome. Talking to my support network – whether it’s family, friends or fellow entrepreneurs. It all helps me gain perspective and stay grounded. Lastly, I try to focus on self-care and give myself permission to take a break, knowing that rest often leads to renewed motivation.
What is your go-to song to get motivated on tough days?
“Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson. The line “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” perfectly captures the mindset I try to maintain during difficult moments. It’s a powerful reminder that every challenge we face has the potential to make us more resilient and capable.
Who is your most important role model?
Elena Verna, a highly respected leader in business growth and product-led strategies. I admire her expertise in constructing scalable frameworks for companies. Her ability to blend data-driven insights with strategic thinking, while maintaining a strong leadership presence, has been incredibly inspiring to me. She demonstrates how to drive impactful results while fostering innovation and collaboration, which is something I strive to emulate in my own business.
