Name: Dina Abdul Majeed

Business: 360Moms

Location: Amman, Jordan

Industry: Children Goods & Services

Reason for starting? I realized that current content around health and parenting in the Arab world is mostly outdated or translated from unknown sources, so parents cannot rely on it to make important decisions every single day. Parents can easily make bad decisions based on bad content. 360Moms is the only platform to offer original high-quality content through articles, videos, live videos, workshops and online seminars. We do that in two languages, Arabic and English.

How do you define success? I have always loved helping others. I love sharing knowledge, and I think this is how people grow. They help and inspire each other, and I believe each of us is unique in her or his own way and we can inspire each other through our knowledge and experiences.

Biggest success: Being a mom to my two kids is my number one success. I enjoy spending time with my kids. I’m very passionate about their upbringing, and I think I’m doing a good job! My number two is founding 360Moms. Every time I hear a mom telling me how it’s inspiring and helping her every single day, this pushes me to do more and keep on going.

What is your top challenge and how you have addressed it? I had two major challenges: 1) Financial: I didn’t have money to start the business. I used my savings, plus I borrowed from family. It wasn’t easy not getting a salary (until now). Before starting 360Moms, I was heading the creative team at Yahoo Middle East and South Africa, so clearly I had a high salary! I had to sacrifice that, but it’s worth it. 2) Working on my own without any co-founders or partners. It’s not easy.

Who is your most important role model? My parents! My mom for her warmth, good heart, selflessness, compassion, endless love and strength. And my dad for his ambition, love for learning, love for books and big heart.
