Name: Edna Crawford

Business: Crawford Professional Life Coach, LLC

Location: Tucson, Arizona, U.S.

Industry: Personal Services

Reason for starting? My aim in starting this practice is to guide people towards becoming better role models for themselves and for others. Also, helping them get on the right track to a more balanced and fulfilled lifestyle through the process of “Personal Development.”

How do you define success?
My definition of success is “personal development.” When you have learned to honor your whole self — your mind, your body and your spirit — that is the beginning stages of success. When you’re able to honor others in a similar fashion, you’ve just added to the building blocks of your success. Passion, love of life, and the contributions you put forth are an added level of success. You can continue to build based on your personal desires.

Biggest success:
Launching my practice was a high success for me. I have wanted to pursue this passion for some time and like many, we allow circumstances or fear to hold us back.

What is your top challenge
and how you have addressed it? Marketing has been my biggest challenge. I’ve never been a large fan of social media. I’ve resorted to utilizing some of the old tried and true marketing practices, such as mailings, free news ads, face to face networking events; many have proved to be successful. Once my budget increases, I plan on hiring a marketing specialist for some additional services.

Who is your most important role model?
My source of inspiration and role models actually came from a couple of my college professors and many of the books I’ve read. But the most important role model in my life came from Carl Segan through his books, films and lectures. He left us in 1996.
