Reason for starting
I’ve become increasingly interested in understanding where my food comes from, and that’s led me to prefer purchasing from small, local producers whenever I can. I’d rather buy direct from the producer – the specialist who can explain everything I want to know about the product.

Biggest Success
Our biggest success is still to come… being cash-flow positive. While we’ve only just launched, we’ve had amazing feedback from customers, vendors and media, and are being recognized by the people we admire most – fellow entrepreneurs, culinary leaders, top Chefs.

What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it?
Being the ‘Jack of all Trades’. Job duties are often not clearly defined when you’re first starting out and owners must wear many hats. When you find yourself spread too thin, hire help. It may seem like an obvious choice, but many entrepreneurs try to do it all themselves.

Who is your most important role model?
I have two amazing female role models. I hope they know who they are.
