Name: Jen Hall

Business: Jen Hall – Business Clarity Coach

Location: Cardiff, United Kingdom

Industry: Professional Services

Reason for starting? I started this particular business after ignoring the calling to coach for a good 10 years! I’ve actually been an entrepreneur on and off since I was 19 years old, but after a failed business the first time round, I resigned myself to working in corporate positions. But after burning myself out, fighting fires and fighting battles that were not mine to fight, I had to get out of there! I started up a business as a holistic therapist. Why? Well in all honesty, it was because it was easy… I loved natural therapies, and who has ever heard of a therapist without clients? Becoming a coach would mean opening myself up to potential failure. But playing small was no way to start a business, and, 5 years on, I lost the passion because I was ignoring my real calling, my true purpose. After I split from an 8-year relationship and became a single mum, things got very real! I decided it was time to step up and play big! I made a vow to live my purpose — inspiring women to live their purpose and earn their worth!

How do you define success? In the past, I would feel I’m an utter failure if I wasn’t making money. This is how I grew up to define success. It wasn’t until I started to make a lot of money that I realized success wasn’t about money at all, money was a by-product of success. Freedom is doing what you want, with whom you want, when you want. But success for me is working because you choose to, because it makes you alive and because you are fulfilled from helping others achieve and grow. Success is being the expert in the area in which you’re passionately in love! When you’re fully aligned with your purpose and your mission, that’s when money will flow!

Biggest success: My biggest success to date is exactly where I’m at right now! I’ve successfully enabled many women to embrace their purpose unapologetically and position themselves as the expert in their field, so that they can lead a movement and a passionate mission forward and earn their worth! It’s not all about the money, but part of my mission is to embrace it unapologetically and remove the guilt from that which will bring freedom. Women all over the world are strutting their stuff and making the world a better place because of the help I give, and that to me brings tears of joy!

What is your top challenge and how you have addressed it? Loving what you do comes at a price! If you’re not careful, your family will pay, your health will pay and so will your overall happiness. When you love what you do, you become in danger of getting “sucked in” and spending too much time working in your business. I found myself losing out on time with my daughter, working until midnight (not because I have to, but because I wanted to) and this had a huge impact on my health as I started to burn out. I started to kid myself that I “needed” the extra work.

I had to, and I continue to, remind myself to put things in perspective, to be mindful of the bigger picture and nurture all areas of my life. It’s an ongoing challenge but one I work to overcome everyday, looking for ways that allow me to be visible without my constant presence and knowing when to switch off!

Who is your most important role model? Anyone who knows of me will probably also know of Jessica Lorimer! She inspires me every day! The way she leads her following, the way she inspires women to create wealth unapologetically and also showing them that it doesn’t have to be hard! In fact wealth comes pretty easily when you know how. Yes there is a “way,” a strategy behind it. She is all about sales with integrity, which is in total alignment with my values! She has helped me generate the wealth that I have today, not just in terms of money but actually honing that skill of creating money — that which once learned can never be taken away!
