Reason for starting
I have always loved baking cookies to give as gifts. In 2001 I went on a quest for the perfect chocolate chip cookie. I couldn’t find any recipes I liked so I made up my own and started feeding them to people. I met someone who owned an ad agency and who offered to build the company brand in exchange for cookies. The rest is history.

What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it?
Surviving the downturn. After 4 years in business we reached profitability. In 2008 the economy started to slide and so did our business. By 2009 our sales were down 50%. With the dedication and loyalty of our Chef, who took a pay cut, and the new staff we have hired since then, we have weathered the storm and are back on track to profitability
Who is your most important role model?
Richard Branson. Anyone who can successfully start and run a profitable airline – especially in this economy – gets my vote, big time.
