This is service journalism at its finest.

Because you may need this more than us, or at least as much as us, below are the funniest videos we’ve seen on social media in recent days. In keeping with our mission, our staff has chosen entertaining videos that feature women — some famous, some not, some speaking English, some sub-titled. They just had to be female and funny.

In these times of quarantine, when days blend into nights that blend into next days and next nights, we all need a little distraction. The world is already low on face masks — it cannot, it will not, be short on humor.

In no particular order:

1. Somebody Please Check on Ina Garten

Did we know that Ina Garten, founder of Barefoot Contessa, is this funny? If we didn’t before, now we do. In this video, the cookbook author shows us how to make a cosmopolitan. “During a crisis, cocktail hour can be almost any hour,” she says, as she wields a giant shaker filled with vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice and freshly squeezed lime juice. “You have to shake this for 30 seconds. You have lots of time, so that’s not a problem.”

2. If Corona Doesn’t Kill Us, Distance Learning Will

We are gasping for air right now, watching this. Here’s a rant (in Hebrew but with subtitles) by Shiri Keningsberg Levi, a mom of four, about parents being forced to teach their kids. We don’t know where she lives, and it honestly doesn’t matter — every translated word is relateable. “The music teacher of my youngest sent over a musical score this morning,” Levi steams. “What am I going to do with that information? What, have I got some band in the house? I can’t read music!””

3. Thongs as Face Masks

We can thank Diane Keaton for sharing this video in which her friend Nancy Meyers teaches us how to cope amid a mask shortage. Meyers is the creative genius behind female-driven “rom-coms” like “Something’s Gotta Give” and “It’s Complicated,” and now, this masterpiece.

5. Two Weeks In….C’est La Vie

Wanda Sykes, who is isolating with French wife Alex Niedbalski and their kids, ponders whether living in quarantine should be added to marital vows. “We go outside for little walks, and she’s like ‘why do you say hello to everyone,'” Sykes recounts. “Because  I’m excited to see a new person in 3D.”

5. The Marsh Family Sing ‘One Day More’

Technically, this is an ensemble cast — but we’re pretty certain mom Danielle Marsh and her killer voice led this effort. Also, she seems to have given birth to four incredibly talented young singers. The whole family busts out an operatic parody (to the tune of “One Day More” from Les Misérables) that should be Grammy-nominated, if possible. Even Anne Hathaway, star of the 2012 film version of Les Mis, approved, sharing a clip on Instragram with the caption, “Bravo!!!!!”
