This story is part of our 1,000 + stories campaign. What’s your story?

Name: Rita Abdallah

Business: Turning Point Services, Ltd.

Location: Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.

Industry: Personal Services

Reason for starting? For 25+ years, I’ve acquired professional and personal passions for teaching, program development, healing and spiritual expression. Formal work settings limited my ability to practice and share all of the various sides of me. An inner calling grew stronger over time to be my whole self. Thanks to a dear friend, I was lovingly encouraged to spread my wings and fly. Through my company, Turning Point, I offer divinely-guided teachings and messages to individuals and groups. My mission is to connect others to the Inner Voice through messages of love, peace, and joy.

How do you define success? My definition of success is about feeling alive, serving others and expressing peace, love and joy. Success means bringing out the best in myself and others. If we contribute a smile, a kind word and hold a tender moment with another, the world becomes a place of light and inspiration. At the end of the day, it is about these exchanges with the world that will allow us to feel strong, open and hopeful about life and spirit.

Biggest success: My biggest success to date has been the opportunity to witness healing and breakthroughs. It is incredible how a safe and loving space creates opportunities for clients to push past trauma, pain and old stories. Once the past is released, clients hear a knock on the door. And on the other side of it, they are able to hear the beautiful sound of their friend, the Inner Voice. Clients then embrace the Inner Voice which guides the way to forgiveness, harmony and empowerment. The journey varies from client to client and I am honored to be part of this magical transformation.

What is your top challenge and how you have addressed it? My top challenge has been to figure out how to share my passion with the world. I have gotten stuck in determining how technology can best support my business. Since I wear a number of hats, it has been hard to come up with the right way to describe how and what I do. There has got to be a better way to channel my energies and do what I love vs. figuring out how to market myself through technology!

Who is your most important role model? Every human being is a teacher, a healer and a lover. I consider every person on this earth to be an important role model. If I have to give credit to specific people, I am forever grateful to my immigrant parents who worked so hard to educate, feed and dress me. They also taught me a love of people and owning a business.

What are your goals for your business? My business goals are to (1) create a strong online presence so that clients can find me, (2) write a book, (3) teach workshops around the world, (4) build revenue and (5) make products to help others grow.
