Name: Sharon Sands
Business: Holistic Healing & Reiki By Sharon, an alternative therapy practice specializing in Holistic Healing and Reiki
Industry: Health & Beauty
Location: Rhodes Town, Greece
Reason for starting: I started my business mainly to help other people, either by giving them treatments or by passing on the knowledge of healing.
How do you define success? My success is not defined by my financial status. I define my success as being given the opportunity to change peoples lives for the better; showing them ways to live a stress free life, teaching them not only how to heal their own lives, but how to make a difference in other people’s lives as well.
Biggest Success: My biggest success is looking at the many lives I have touched, and how I have help people to have a new outlook on life and to live in balance and harmony. Several years ago I had the previlage to be able to help a person who no longer had the will to live, whose outlook on life was very bleak. After helping her to heal herself, I then went on to teach her how to continue to heal using Reiki. She has since gone on to become a Reiki Master-Teacher herself and in turn has helped many other people.
What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it? My top challenge at the moment is the opening of a much needed non-profit Alternative Therapy Center here in Rhodes, Greece. The center will have classes in Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, Qi Gong and Meditation, for children as well as adults. We aim to get the children introduced to methods of fitness and relaxation at an early age, so they can enjoy a full and rich stress free life. In addition to the classes we will be offering a variety of treatments from Reiki, Reflexology, Massage, Hypnotherapy, and counseling from the many healer-therapists that we have on the island. We plan to bring in motivational speakers and healers from around the world. To fund this I am selling Reiki courses at 50% off so people can learn to heal themselves while funding the centre.
Who is your most important role model? The Dalai Lama.
