Name: Stacey Sanchez

Business: Holistic Healer & Wellness Inc., a maker of natural health and beauty products

Industry: Coaching & ConsultingE-CommerceHealth & Beauty

Location: Dearborn, Michigan, U.S.

Reason for starting: I am a holistic practitioner and health coach that educates people about how to live healthy and happy lives. I had friends, family, and clients asking me if I had a products for this or that so, I started developing a product line that has since turned into 177 products. The first product I ever made was for a 6 month old girl that had eczema from head to toe and the doctors could do nothing but give her a steroid cream. Her parents were not happy with this, so they came to me and asked if I could do anything for their child and the first product Skin Soothie was created. The child had great results after a week and in a few months her skin was like it should be; soft as a baby’s bottom!

How do you define success? Success to me is feeling great about what I do each day, and making high quality products that help others overcome their health issues. When a client sends me a testimonial or calls and tells me how my products have helped them, it gives me the greatest feeling in the world!

We are also working with investors to help expand the company into a franchise. We would like to be place that makes organic/natural products from personal care, skin care, body care, supplements, pet care and also has a vegan café, a health coach and life coach on staff to address specific needs for each individual and help educate people on living a happy, balanced life.

Biggest Success: I have several that come to mind but the one that sticks out most, is when I brought my Jack Russell, Mino, back to health after a rabies shot destroyed her immune system. She had lost almost all of her fur and was very ill. Since she is essentially my kid I would do anything to get her healthy except let a vet kill off her pituitary glad and have her be on medication the rest of her life, which would have greatly shortened it. I used the supplements and essential oils I make in my product line with a few additions. Today Mino is as healthy as can be without any medication and her fur is thicker then it ever was.

What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it? The top challenge is money and how to get funding to make your dream a reality. These days there are many different avenues, from crowd funding to private investors. But the best thing to have is a business plan and any financials to go along with it, this way you know what you are up against and if it’s worth the time and effort to go into business. That was my main challenge having to do paperwork for financials, as this is my least favorite part of being a business owner. So I had to create a system and stay organized so that my life would not be a ball of stress.

Who is your most important role model? My mother. She has been there for me and with me every step of the way and without her help I would have never have been able to accomplish everything I have throughout my life.
