Reason for starting
In 1998, I recognized the need for a professional service that would make a brand “findable” in search engines. I created @Website Publicity by hiring and training staff in the art and science of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This fit my desire for a creative career and also met my desire to have time and flexibility for our family of five.
Biggest Success
Building a “qualify of life” workplace for myself and my employees, who average 7.5 years with our company. I believe that, if we put family first, we end up being more productive, creative and client-focused.
What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it?
Because of the fast pace of change and new developments in the marketing world, I want to scale from 10 to 20 or 25 employees in the next two years in order to have expert talent in all emerging online channels. It’s a work in progress.
Who is your most important role model?
My fellow members of the Boston I Chapter of the Women Presidents Organization. We meet monthly for professionally-facilitated workshops and knowledge exchanges and I come away with actionable information in all areas of business, plus the inspiration of women business leaders who set the bar high – and meet it daily.
