Reason for starting
I started my law practice because I saw a need for reasonable legal rates for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Unlike most firms, I offer flat, transparent legal rates.
How do you define success?
Success is very personal. It is subjective, not objective. I completely changed my lifestyle and now live on a small farm. I get to practice law from my laptop, with my dogs at my feet and my chickens right out the door. Some people would not call this success! The fact that I can define my future, and that I’m in control of it…to me that is success.
Biggest Success
Kicking the big law firm life to the curb, and now being able to work remotely, whenever and wherever, in the world! Gaining this freedom is my biggest success!
What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it?
I’m currently trying to grow my business and build my client base. I’m having to really put myself “out there” in ways that I’ve never had to do. Particularly speaking engagements, and I used to be terrified of public speaking. I tell myself, these people are coming to listen to me and to learn from me. I’m not going to let them down!
Who is your most important role model?
Michelle Obama. She appreciates healthy living and wants to encourage others to make the right food choices. She is a brilliant woman, but she has also chosen to support her husband 100%. His dreams became hers. As a career woman and maybe one day wife, I admire her ability to balance her independence with the ability to support our President. Plus, she has great toned arms!
