Today’s words of wisdom come from Madeline Albright, who became the first female U.S. Secretary of State on this week in 1997.
Madeline Albright is a role model for us at The Story Exchange. She shattered the glass ceiling in U.S. politics, becoming the highest-ranking woman in U.S. history at the time of her appointment as Secretary of State.
We liked this quote because we can see the truth of it right here in our office. Women-owned businesses tend to be more inclusive in hiring, more customer-focused and more interested in collaboration.
In fact, women-owned businesses constitute 23 million jobs, or 16% of all U.S. employment.
So we agree with Madam Secretary: good things are happening, indeed.
