Reason for starting
I was working as the Director of Recruitment for one of the largest employers in the United States, but I felt that I could offer more to the world as an independent voice about careers, work, and recruitment. I wanted to have an opportunity to show that you do not have to follow the status quo by living that ideal myself.

Biggest Success
In my second year, I was able to reach over 1,000 individuals through my career coaching services and help organizations hire over 600 people. I did this while being location independent and supporting the work of over a dozen subcontractors who also got a chance to shine through my startup.

What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it?
My biggest challenge has been making strategy decisions. I have a lot of things I could do to expand or market my business, but really need to focus to be successful. I have brought in experts and team members who can help me weight options and execute. You cannot run a business alone.

Who is your most important role model?
I have too many, but here’s a few! Wendy Kopp because she changed an entire profession through Teach for America. William Bratton, former police commissioner of NYC and LA, because of his relentless focus on results. Gina Trapani because we are the same age and defined her own path as a writer and innovator around making people’s lives better.
