Recently, our “Get Over It” small business panel addressed being an introvert and fear of “making the ask,” two issues that many women grapple with as they are getting their ventures up and running. But a recent study shows that these lapses in confidence extend beyond pitch meetings.
Prezi — an online presentation tool that facilitates cloud-based collaboration — learned that women are twice as likely as men to describe presenting in front of others as “extremely stressful.” Researchers also found that women are more likely to lack confidence in their abilities to answer follow-up questions, and that women reported a lower threshold overall for dealing with difficult clients and audience members.
